Police in Hesse are investigating two separate attacks on vending machines during New Year’s Eve celebrations. Both incidents involved fireworks, causing significant damage. Authorities have now appealed for witnesses to come forward with information.

In Maintal-Bischofsheim, a ticket vending machine was destroyed by an explosion caused by fireworks. The blast left the machine severely damaged, with repair costs estimated at several thousand euros. Despite the destruction, no money was stolen from the device.

Meanwhile, in Mühlheim am Main, a cigarette vending machine also suffered firework-related damage. The extent of the harm has not yet been fully assessed, but police confirmed the incident was deliberate. Investigators are treating both cases as criminal acts. They have urged anyone with details about the attacks to contact local authorities immediately.

The two incidents highlight a pattern of deliberate vandalism using fireworks over the holiday period. Police continue to gather evidence, though no suspects have been identified so far. Anyone with relevant information is encouraged to assist the ongoing investigation.
