A new express bus route, the X40, will soon connect Biedenkopf with Gießen, offering faster travel options for commuters. The service, set to launch on December 14, 2025, follows approval from the Rhein-Main Transport Association (RMV) and the Regional Transport Association of Marburg-Biedenkopf. The expansion aims to improve connections between rural towns and the city, with journeys taking under 90 minutes.
The X40 will run from Biedenkopf to Gießen, stopping in Dautphetal, Gladenbach, and Lohra along the way. Operated by the RMV, the service will run Monday through Saturday at two-hour intervals. The first weekday departure leaves Biedenkopf at 4:16 AM, while Saturday services start at 6:26 AM.
The X40 extension provides a direct link between Biedenkopf and Gießen, reducing travel time to less than 90 minutes. The service strengthens public transport options for residents in Dautphetal, Gladenbach, and Lohra. Passengers can also connect to long-distance trains at Gießen, improving access to Frankfurt and beyond.
