New Series *#BetweenWorlds* Explores Ethnic German Stories from the Soviet Union

A new video series called #BetweenWorlds has launched to highlight the history and cultural diversity of ethnic Germans from the former Soviet Union. The project, funded by multiple government bodies, aims to raise awareness about late resettlers in Germany through personal stories and documentaries.

The series was introduced in October by the Institute for Documentation and Research on the History of Ethnic Germans from Russia and the Soviet Union (IDRH). The first episode focuses on theatre, featuring a documentary about the Russland-Deutsche Theater Niederstetten, a cultural institution with deep roots in the German-Russian community.

The project is backed by the Hessian Ministry of the Interior, the Cultural Affairs Office for Ethnic German Resettlers, and the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media. By sharing these stories, #BetweenWorlds provides a platform for understanding the experiences of ethnic Germans who migrated from the former Soviet Union to Germany.
