New leadership at Wiesbaden Employment Agency targets jobs and efficiency

A leadership transition has taken place at the Wiesbaden Employment Agency. Monika Kessler stepped into the role of executive board chair on January 1, 2023, replacing Alexander Baumann. The change was marked by a focus on stability and building on the agency’s existing strengths.

Alexander Baumann led the agency for years, guiding it through the challenges of the pandemic. Under his leadership, digital services expanded, and ties with local governments and businesses remained strong. He has since moved on to head the Darmstadt Employment Agency.

Monika Kessler brings a structured approach to her new position. She emphasises teamwork, clear priorities, and measuring success by how many job seekers secure employment. Her plans include streamlining processes and using digital tools to make decisions faster.

The Wiesbaden job market faces ongoing difficulties. Companies continue to struggle with a shortage of skilled workers, while certain groups—such as the unemployed, apprentices, and refugees—require targeted support. Kessler aims to address these challenges through tailored training programmes, early career advice, and partnerships with regional employers.

Kessler’s leadership will focus on maintaining continuity while improving efficiency. Digitalisation and collaboration with local partners will play key roles in her strategy. The agency’s efforts will remain centred on helping job seekers transition into stable employment.
