Neuss Job Fair Connects Future Nurses and Social Workers with Employers

A job fair focused on nursing and social work will take place at Gare du Neuss in Neuss on March 17, 2026. The event, titled Careers in Care, aims to connect students and career changers with local employers offering training and job opportunities. Organised as part of the Future of Nursing Professions initiative, it will highlight roles in geriatric care, pediatric nursing, and social pedagogy.

The fair is open to anyone interested in a career in nursing or social work, with a particular focus on students from eighth grade upward. Around 300 participants have already signed up for the free event. Interactive booths will provide firsthand insights into roles such as geriatric care (Pflegefachkraft), pediatric nursing, social pedagogy (Sozialpädagogik), and special needs education.

Local employers, including Klinikum Niederrhein, Caritas Neuss, AWO Rheinland, and Stadt Neuss Sozialamt, will showcase vacancies in elderly care facilities, youth welfare services, and home care. Representatives from these organisations will share practical experiences and answer questions about training, retraining, and degree programmes. A themed programme of lectures will explore career opportunities in the sector. Guided excursions will also allow attendees to visit different facilities. Dirk Brügge, District Director and Head of Social Services, has emphasised the strong career prospects and job security in nursing and social work.

The Careers in Care fair addresses the shortage of skilled workers in the sector by linking job seekers directly with employers. Participants will leave with information on training paths, job openings, and practical insights into the field. The event is part of ongoing efforts by Rhein-Kreis Neuss to promote careers in nursing and social services.
