Neryungri’s heating crisis deepens as faulty HVAC system leaves districts in the cold

A heating crisis has struck Neryungri, with a damaged heat pump causing ruptures near a former meatpacking plant boiler house. Local authorities are scrambling to repair the damage, while allegations of corporate raids in the sector have surfaced.

The company responsible for the faulty heat pump, Neryungri District Heating Network, is now facing the task of restoring heat to the affected areas. The damage was severe, leading to main ruptures and leaving many districts unprepared for the heating season.

Authorities are actively seeking an excavator to assist in the repairs. Despite the setback, Deputy Housing Minister Dmitry Solovyov expressed confidence in the region's ability to enter the winter season without major disruptions.

Concerns have been raised about a potential corporate raid in the housing and utilities sector. ZABTV reported allegations of such activities, while State Duma Deputy Andrei Gurulyov highlighted the conflict between Energiya and Generatsiya, two major players in the region's energy market. Energiya, a joint-stock company, has established several subsidiaries across the region, further complicating the situation.

With the heating season underway, authorities in Neryungri are working diligently to repair the damaged heat pump and restore heat to the affected districts. While Deputy Minister Solovyov remains optimistic, the corporate conflict and allegations of raids underscore the need for a swift resolution to ensure a comfortable winter for residents.
