Mystery in Frankfurt: Plush Lion Causes Stir, Police Seek Owner
Frankfurt residents were left bewildered after a woman reported spotting an animal-like figure in Bonifatius Park on October 18, 2025. Police were swiftly called to investigate the unusual sighting in the Kalbach-Riedberg district.
Initially, the figure was believed to be a cougar, sparking concern among locals. However, upon arrival, two patrol units from the Frankfurt police discovered the creature to be harmless. The mysterious animal turned out to be a large plush lion, left behind by an unknown individual.
The stuffed animal was promptly taken into custody and temporarily housed at the 14th Police Precinct. Despite extensive searches, no information about the owner of the toy could be found. The police have yet to identify the person who presumably left the large furry lion in the park.
The plush lion, though causing a brief stir, posed no threat to the community. Frankfurt police urge anyone with information about the owner of the toy to come forward. Meanwhile, the large furry lion remains in police custody, awaiting its owner's claim.
