Mysterious note and cemetery theft baffle German police in separate cases
Police in Marburg and Biedenkopf are investigating two separate incidents that took place earlier this month. In one case, an unknown driver damaged a parked car and left an unreadable note, while in another, thieves targeted a cemetery in Gladenbach. Authorities are now appealing for witnesses to come forward.
Between 2 p.m. on March 3 and 9 a.m. on March 4, an unidentified driver hit a blue Ford Puma parked on Gerhart-Hauptmann-Straße in Marburg. The owner later discovered around €1,000 worth of damage to the vehicle, along with a handwritten note left on the windshield. However, the writing was illegible, leaving no clear details about the responsible party. Marburg police have since urged the author of the note to contact them and asked any witnesses to provide information.
Meanwhile, in Gladenbach, two brass bowls were stolen from a grave at the cemetery on Marburger Straße. The theft occurred sometime between March 2 and March 5. Local police in Biedenkopf are now seeking tips from the public to help identify those responsible.
Both investigations remain ongoing, with police relying on public assistance to gather leads. The Marburg incident involves vehicle damage and an unclear note, while the Gladenbach case centres on stolen grave decorations.
