Mysterious kiosk break-in leaves Darmstadt police searching for clues

A kiosk on Lortzingstraße in Darmstadt-Wixhausen was targeted by burglars on Monday evening. The break-in happened at around 8:30 p.m. on January 12, 2026. Police are now asking for public help to find those responsible.

The suspects forced their way into the kiosk by smashing a display window. Witnesses have not yet come forward with direct accounts of the incident. However, investigators believe the burglars wore full black attire—black jackets, pants, and shoes.

Despite gaining entry, the suspects left without taking anything. They fled the scene in an unknown direction shortly after the break-in. Authorities have not confirmed any reports of suspicious activity during the crime. Police are urging anyone who saw people dressed in black near the kiosk or heard unusual noises to get in touch. Witnesses can contact Kriminalpolizei Darmstadt at 06151/969-0 with information.

The investigation remains ongoing as officers piece together details of the break-in. No arrests have been made so far. The public’s assistance could prove crucial in identifying the suspects.
