Mysterious kilometer-long oil slick paralyzes roads in southeast Hesse
A kilometre-long oil slick has been discovered across multiple roads in southeast Hesse. The spill stretches along State Road 3268 between Erlensee and Bruchköbel, continuing onto Federal Highway 45 and District Road 246 toward Karben. Authorities were alerted shortly after 9 a.m. on Thursday morning at Langenselbold police station.
The oil slick was first reported to police at Langenselbold station. Investigators later found heavy concentrations at the roundabout connecting to Road 3193. The trail was traced along B45 through Bruchköbel before fading near Karben.
