Motorist arrested after erratic driving and suspected drug use on A67

A 45-year-old motorist was stopped by police on the A67 motorway near Lorsch after displaying dangerous driving behaviour. The incident took place on the afternoon of January 8, leading to his arrest on suspicion of drug use and multiple traffic violations. The driver, from North Rhine-Westphalia, was observed overtaking vehicles on the right, flashing high beams repeatedly, and failing to keep a safe distance from other cars. He also weaved erratically across lanes, prompting officers to pull him over for a check. During the stop, police noticed signs of recent cocaine and cannabis consumption. The man was taken into custody and required to undergo a blood test. His name has not been released in official reports. After processing, he was released but now faces investigations for breaking narcotics laws, suspected drug-impaired driving, and several traffic offences. The case will proceed under further investigation. Authorities will examine the blood test results and review the traffic violations. Legal action could follow depending on the findings.
