Motorcyclist caught at 118 km/h in 50 zone with illegal Kawasaki Ninja 400

A 21-year-old motorcyclist was caught speeding through Hanau late on Wednesday evening. The rider broke both noise and speed limits while travelling on a modified Kawasaki Ninja 400. Authorities recorded multiple violations during the stop.

The incident took place on Antoniterstraße, where the bike was clocked at 118 km/h in a 50 km/h zone. Police also noted an excessively loud exhaust as the rider turned onto Lamboystraße. When questioned, the motorcyclist claimed he was 'breaking in' the engine after the winter break.

The motorcycle had several legal issues. It lacked a DB killer, had no rear turn signals, and its inspection had expired. As a result, the bike was immediately impounded for further examination by an expert.

No similar cases of repeated speeding violations by motorcyclists have been recorded in Hanau or the wider Hesse region over the past year. Public records show no comparable incidents involving the same type of offences.

The rider and the motorcycle's owner now face penalties. These include a fine of around €1,500, two points on their driving record, and a three-month driving ban. The case will proceed based on the expert's assessment of the impounded bike.
