Morgan Truck Body Seeks Anti-Dumping Probe on Chinese Truck Boxes

Morgan Transit and Morgan Canada, subsidiaries of Morgan Truck Body, have filed a request with the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) for an anti-dumping investigation on Chinese-made truck boxes. The companies seek a provisional duty of around 110% to restore fair competition and protect Canadian jobs.

The Canadian companies allege that Chinese producers are receiving subsidies and engaging in unfair pricing practices, enabling them to sell truck boxes at significantly lower prices. This, they claim, is harming the Canadian truck box industry and threatening local jobs.

Morgan Transit and Morgan Canada have asked the CBSA to open the investigation by January 2026. If the investigation finds in their favour, a provisional anti-dumping duty will be imposed, subject to review by the Canadian International Trade Tribunal for a final duty level.

The request for an anti-dumping investigation is a significant step in Morgan Transit and Morgan Canada's efforts to level the playing field for the Canadian truck box industry. If successful, it could help secure the future of the industry and protect Canadian jobs.
