Moldovan Man Caught at Frankfurt Airport With Fake Romanian ID

A 45-year-old man from Moldova was stopped at Frankfurt Airport after trying to enter Germany with a fake Romanian ID. Federal police spotted the forged document during a routine check on January 5. The man had planned to work in the country without permission. Officers at Frankfurt Airport examined the man’s identification and quickly realised it was counterfeit. The document, claimed to be Romanian, failed authenticity tests. Authorities then refused him entry into Germany. An investigation revealed the man intended to take up unauthorised employment. As a result, officials issued an immediate entry and residence ban against him. The forged ID card was confiscated, and criminal proceedings were launched. The case was handled by the German Federal Police, who confirmed the incident took place earlier this month. No further details about the man’s background or previous attempts to enter Germany were provided. The Moldovan national now faces legal consequences for using false documents and attempting to work illegally. German authorities have barred him from entering or staying in the country. The seized ID card will remain in police custody as part of the ongoing investigation.
