Michael Söder takes charge as Eschwege’s new police station leader

Eschwege police station has a new leader. Michael Söder took over the reins on November 1, 2025, following a formal inauguration by Police President Marco Bärtl and Rainer Neusüß, the incoming Operations Division head. Söder's appointment comes after Markus Peters' departure to lead the Kassel Central Police Precinct. Christopher Pfaff, Director of the Werra-Meißner Police Directorate, expressed confidence in Söder's leadership, citing his extensive experience and expertise. Söder began his career with the Hesse State Police in 1995, holding various roles such as operational officer, case officer, and deputy shift group leader. He succeeds Peter, the former leading criminal director, who held the position previously. Michael Söder, a family man with many years of service, brings a wealth of experience to his new role. His hobbies include table tennis and outdoor activities, indicating a well-rounded individual ready to lead the Eschwege police station.
