There are group of people holding placards and walking. These are the trees. I can see small bushes. This is the banner. I can see a building with name boards attached to it. These look like cars. I think these are the current polls.

Mexico’s Youth Rise Against Violence in ‘A Million Stars’ Global Campaign

Mexico grapples with alarming violence, with over 30,000 murders and 14,000 forced disappearances reported in 2025. In response, young Mexicans are fighting back, with a global campaign 'A Million Stars' set to take place on November 15, 2025.

The 'A Million Stars' campaign, which began in France in 1984 and has since spread to over 80 locations worldwide, aims to raise awareness of the struggles faced by Mexicans and call for a more just world. In Germany, the initiative started in 2007 by Operation Mobilisation (OM Deutschland) and is now an annual event.

Participants will create personal life plans to increase resilience and build lives free from illegal income, addiction, and drug trafficking. Caritas offers support through stress management seminars, peace circles, women's groups, and counseling for those affected by violent crimes. Community members also hold 'street services' at sites of violence to support and accompany the grieving.

On November 15, 2025, 'A Million Stars' will shine a light on Mexico's violence, with young people advocating for nonviolence. The campaign seeks to send a powerful message of solidarity and hope for a more peaceful future.
