Mexico City officers rescue opossum in unusual urban wildlife operation

A unusual incident occurred in Mexico City's Álvaro Obregón neighborhood when a team of officers from the Banking and Industrial Police were called to remove an opossum from a property on Santa Catarina Avenue in San Ángel Inn. The local municipal government or relevant public safety authorities in Álvaro Obregón were responsible for the operation. Property staff had requested assistance from their assigned social security office for the removal of the unwanted visitor. The security team then contacted the appropriate authorities, who swiftly responded. The opossum was safely captured and placed in a pet carrier by the officers, ensuring no harm came to the animal or the residents. After the successful capture, the opossum was handed over to Civil Protection staff for examination. This process is standard to ensure the animal's health and well-being before release back into its natural habitat. The opossum removal operation was a collaborative effort between property staff, security personnel, and the relevant authorities. The opossum was safely removed and handed over to Civil Protection for examination, demonstrating a commitment to both public safety and animal welfare.
