Mexican banks have seen mixed financial results in 2025, with some reporting record profits while others face declining earnings. BBVA Mexico led the sector in October, but overall industry profits fell for the second month in a row. Meanwhile, international banks like Deutsche Bank and CIBC posted strong gains in the same period.

BBVA Mexico topped the earnings list in October 2025 with 82.5 billion pesos in profits. This figure represented nearly 33% of the industry’s total profits for the month. Banorte followed with 38.52 billion pesos, while Santander Mexico earned 26.78 billion pesos.

The banking sector in Mexico shows contrasting trends, with top institutions like BBVA Mexico reporting high earnings while others see declines. The industry’s loan growth remains steady, but economic challenges may weaken credit performance before the year ends. International banks, meanwhile, continue to post strong financial results.
