Maybank Appoints Mohd Raslan Yasin to Lead Islamic Banking

Maybank has appointed Mohd Raslan Yasin to lead its Islamic banking franchise, aiming to further strengthen its global leadership in Islamic finance. Yasin will report directly to the president and group chief executive officer (GCEO) and join the group executive committee.

Yasin brings a wealth of experience to his new role. He previously served as the head of Maybank's Group Treasury and Global Markets, demonstrating his expertise in managing complex financial operations. Most recently, he has been instrumental as the group chief audit executive, driving the Maybank Group Audit Strategic Plan 2023-2025.

In his new position, Yasin will oversee business strategies, product development, and risk management for Maybank's Islamic finance business. His appointment signals the bank's commitment to growing its Islamic banking franchise and maintaining its competitive edge in the global Islamic finance landscape.

Mohd Raslan Yasin's appointment as the new head of Maybank's Islamic Banking Group is effective immediately. His successor, Malique Firdauz Ahmad Sidique, will assume the role of group chief audit executive on October 1, 2023. Both appointments reflect Maybank's ongoing commitment to strategic leadership and succession planning.
