Massive warehouse fire in Weinbach leaves €50,000 in damages

A fire broke out at a commercial warehouse in Weinbach on the evening of February 7, 2026. The blaze started at 10:31 p.m. on Weilburger Straße 16a, drawing emergency crews from multiple nearby towns. The roof of the storage hall was already engulfed in flames by the time firefighters arrived.

The fire originated from a technical fault in an air blower. Teams from Weilmünster, Weinbach, Elkerhausen, Blessenbach, and Freienfels rushed to the scene to tackle the flames. Inside the warehouse, three businesses operated, including a logistics firm employing around 20–30 people on-site. The facility typically stored pallets of industrial goods, consumables, and possibly plastics or chemicals.

The mayor of Weinbach later visited the site to review the firefighting response and inspect the damage. Early estimates place the total cost of repairs to the building and a few machines at between €40,000 and €50,000.

The incident caused significant structural harm to the warehouse, though no injuries were reported. Authorities continue to assess the full impact on the businesses housed there. The mayor's visit signalled local concern over the economic and operational effects of the fire.
