Massive police raids in Offenbach expose drug rings and traffic crimes
A major police operation in Offenbach has led to multiple arrests and traffic penalties over the past week. Officers carried out widespread checks, uncovering drug offences, immigration violations, and stolen vehicles. One suspect, a 36-year-old dual German-Russian national, now faces serious drug trafficking charges after a raid in Detmold.
The operation began with a 36-year-old man arrested in Detmold on Thursday morning. Police raided his property and found evidence linking him to large-scale cocaine, heroin, and amphetamine trafficking. He appeared before a judge the same day and was remanded in custody.
In Offenbach, a 41-year-old man was stopped in Gerberstraße after officers found a small amount of cocaine on him. Nearby, a 29-year-old was detained in Hospitalstraße for possessing a minor quantity of the same drug. Meanwhile, a ship captain reported being targeted by a laser pointer while navigating the Main River. When police searched the area, they discovered hashish and arrested one person. Traffic enforcement also played a key role in the operation. A 26-year-old man was stopped near the main train station for riding an uninsured e-scooter and received a criminal complaint. Another 34-year-old, caught on a stolen and uninsured e-scooter, was taken into custody for a blood test before being transferred to a correctional facility due to an outstanding international arrest warrant. A 45-year-old man attempted to flee on foot from a stopped box van after officers discovered he lacked a valid residence permit. He is now under investigation for suspected illegal employment. Throughout the checks, multiple traffic violations were recorded, resulting in fines and further legal action.
The operation resulted in several arrests, drug seizures, and traffic penalties. Authorities have launched criminal and regulatory proceedings against those involved. Police continue to investigate the cases, with some suspects already in custody or facing legal consequences.
