Massive Frankfurt allotment fire destroys garden sheds on New Year’s Eve

A fire broke out at an allotment garden complex on Kleyerstraße in Frankfurt-Gallus on December 30, 2025. Several garden sheds were damaged as flames spread across multiple plots. Emergency services responded quickly to the scene. The blaze was reported at around 6:35 p.m., with witnesses describing flames reaching three to four metres high. Firefighters arrived shortly after and worked for about 1.5 hours to bring the situation under control. The fire started in a shared area between four adjacent plots before spreading to neighbouring gardens. Authorities have cordoned off the site while investigators work to determine the cause. Early reports suggest the total damage could run into the low six-figure range. Police and fire crews remain on-site as part of the ongoing inquiry. The incident has left multiple garden sheds damaged, with the full extent of losses still being assessed. Residents and plot holders are awaiting further updates from local authorities as the investigation continues.
