Massive fire at Frankfurt senior home leaves residents unharmed

A fire broke out at a senior living facility in Frankfurt-Niederursel on Friday, May 16, just after 8 p.m. The blaze started in an outbuilding, forcing emergency crews to respond swiftly. Fortunately, all nine residents escaped without injury.

The fire began on a balcony before spreading to a wooden pent roof and entering an adjacent apartment. Frankfurt’s fire department sent 130 responders and 30 vehicles, including three ladder trucks, to combat the flames. Volunteer fire teams from Niederursel, Seckbach, Kalbach, Nieder-Erlenbach, and Schwanheim also joined the effort.

The incident saw a large-scale response, with professional and volunteer firefighters collaborating to contain the blaze. No injuries were reported among the nine residents, and the situation was stabilized by early Saturday morning. Authorities will likely investigate the cause of the fire in the coming days.
