Masked burglars steal jewelry in Steinau home break-in

A detached house in Steinau an der Straße was broken into on Saturday evening. Two unknown intruders forced open a terrace window before fleeing with stolen jewelry. Neighbours spotted the open window and alerted police shortly after 8:25 p.m.

The break-in occurred at a property on Schwarzwaldstraße. The burglars, both around 180 cm tall, wore dark anoraks and face coverings. One was described as stockily built.

They entered by prying open a terrace window, causing roughly €500 worth of damage. Neighbours noticed the open window and immediately contacted the authorities. The noise and activity startled the intruders, who escaped across an adjacent field.

Police confirmed that jewelry was taken during the burglary. The investigation remains ongoing, with officers reviewing witness statements and any available evidence from the scene.

The burglars remain at large, and the stolen items have not yet been recovered. Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward. The incident has prompted local residents to remain vigilant about home security.
