Marburg Unveils Bold Plan for Diversity and Inclusion by 2026

Marburg is launching a new initiative to strengthen diversity and inclusion in the city. The Diversity and Participation: Marburg's Integration Strategy will be unveiled at an upcoming conference, with residents encouraged to take part. The event aims to bring people together for discussions on equality and justice. The city will hold its Integration Conference on Saturday, May 9, from 12:00 PM to 4:30 PM. The venue is the Technology and Conference Center (TTZ), and entry is free for all attendees. Those interested must register by April 24 via the official website, www.ourwebsite/Diversity-Participation-Future.

The strategy itself was shaped with input from the public, resulting in clear recommendations for action. Implementation will begin in the second half of 2026, overseen by Marburg's Office for Gender Equality, Diversity, and Anti-Discrimination. The plan focuses on practical steps to improve inclusion across the city. Marburg's leaders have described the initiative as a movement for fairness and participation. They are calling on residents to engage with the strategy and help build a more inclusive community.

The conference marks the official start of Marburg's structured approach to diversity and integration. The strategy will roll out gradually, with the city's dedicated office leading the process. Registration for the event remains open until April 24.
