Marburg police hunt attackers after glass bottle assault and hit-and-run

Police in Marburg are investigating two separate incidents that took place last week. A 21-year-old man was assaulted with a glass bottle in the early hours of Thursday, while a hit-and-run collision left a damaged car mirror on Wehrdaer Straße. Authorities are now appealing for witnesses to come forward with information.

The first incident occurred around 3:30 AM on Thursday, November 20, on Renthof Street. A 21-year-old man was sitting on a bench with friends when a verbal argument broke out with a group of three people. The confrontation quickly turned violent, and one of the attackers struck the victim in the face with a glass bottle, causing an injury above his eye. The assailant is described as a man between 160–165 cm tall, with short dark blond hair and dark clothing. The trio then fled in an unknown direction.

Marburg Police are urging anyone with information about either incident to contact them at (06421) 4060. The assault left the victim injured, while the hit-and-run caused property damage. Investigators are working to identify those involved in both cases.
