Marburg-Biedenkopf Hosts Inclusive Youth Work Training to Break Barriers

A training session on inclusion in youth work took place on March 9, 2026, in Marburg-Biedenkopf. Organised by Youth Services and Lebenshilfe Marburg-Biedenkopf, the event aimed to promote participation and remove barriers for young people. Support for the programme came from Aktion Mensch, a well-known advocate for social inclusion.

The session, titled Experiencing Diversity and Breaking Down Barriers: Inclusion in Youth Work, brought together educators and youth workers. Lebenshilfe's trainers led discussions on historical backgrounds, current challenges, and personal experiences—including through poetry slams. Participants also shared ideas on making youth programmes more accessible and open to all.

District Administrator Jens Womelsdorf highlighted the importance of inclusion during the event. He thanked Lebenshilfe's educators and attendees for their commitment to fostering a more inclusive environment. The county regularly updates its Youth Services training schedule on its official website, www.lkmb.de/youth.

The training provided practical tools and insights for improving inclusion in child and youth work. Educators left with new strategies to create more welcoming and barrier-free programmes. Further updates on similar initiatives will be available through the county's online resources.
