Marburg-Biedenkopf completes two major county road upgrades ahead of schedule
Two major road renovation projects in the Marburg-Biedenkopf district have reached completion. County Road 68 between Hermershausen and Elnhausen has reopened after extensive upgrades, while work on County Road 79 near Marburg-Michelbach is in its final stages. Local authorities highlight the importance of these improvements for regional transport and safety.
The ā¬545,000 renovation of County Road 68 (K 68) included resurfacing a 1.2-kilometre stretch, adjusting farm access roads, and reinforcing the shoulders. Funded entirely by the district, the project faced a minor setback when an early winter snap in late November delayed the final asphalt layer by about a week. Despite this, the route has now fully reopened to traffic.
The completion of these two projects marks a significant step in maintaining the districtās road network. County Road 68 is now fully operational, while the final touches on County Road 79 are expected to wrap up shortly. Both upgrades aim to improve travel conditions and safety for local residents and commuters.
