Fatal Shots Fired at Ex's New Partner - Trial Begins - Man stands trial for murder after fatal shooting in ex-girlfriend’s home

A 51-year-old man is standing trial in Wiesbaden for the alleged murder of his ex-girlfriend's new partner. The shooting took place in February 2025 at the victim's apartment, where the accused reportedly entered with the help of his 10-year-old son.

The incident unfolded when the defendant's son, from a previous relationship with the victim's ex-partner, let him into the flat. The accused then allegedly fired four shots at the 42-year-old victim, who was watching television in the living room. The man died at the scene from severe internal injuries.

Police arrested the suspect shortly after the shooting. He has remained in pretrial detention ever since. Both the accused and the victim held Turkish citizenship. Prosecutors claim the firearm used in the attack was obtained illegally. The trial is now examining the circumstances surrounding the killing and the defendant's access to the weapon.

The case centres on the events of February 2025, when the victim was fatally shot in his own home. If convicted, the defendant could face a lengthy prison sentence under German law. The trial continues as authorities review the evidence and witness testimonies.
