A 33-year-old man in Lampertheim, Hesse, was taken into custody after answering the door to police with a pistol in hand. The incident began when officers responded to a noise complaint about loud music early on Sunday morning.

Police arrived at the man’s apartment following reports of excessive noise. When they knocked, he opened the door holding what appeared to be a firearm. Officers immediately intervened, ordering him to drop the weapon, which he did without resistance. No injuries occurred during the confrontation.

The weapon was later confirmed to be a blank-firing gun. A search of the apartment uncovered a second blank-firing pistol, a crossbow, an extendable baton, and a machete. The suspect was placed in temporary custody. Authorities are now investigating potential charges, including threats and violations of weapons laws.

The man remains in custody while the investigation continues. Police have not released further details about the case. The incident highlights the risks officers face during routine calls, even those initially unrelated to weapons.
