A man attempted to seize a woman's pet in Wiesbaden. When nearby police intervened, the 24-year-old suddenly attacked the officers.

A 24-year-old man was arrested in Wiesbaden after attempting to snatch a dog from its owner. The incident took place on December 4, 2025, at Platz der Deutschen Einheit around 5:25 p.m. Police intervened, but the suspect turned violent before being taken into custody.

The altercation began when the man blocked a woman’s path and demanded she surrender her pet. When she refused, he tried to wrestle the leash from her hands. Nearby officers quickly stepped in to stop the confrontation.

The attempted pet theft and subsequent assault led to the suspect’s arrest and psychiatric evaluation. Charges have been formally filed, with the case now moving through the legal system. The dog and its owner were unharmed during the incident.
