Man arrested for sexually harassing teens on Wiesbaden bus route 37

A 57-year-old man was arrested in Wiesbaden on suspicion of sexually harassing teenagers on a public bus. The incident occurred on the number 37 route toward the main train station early in the morning. Police were alerted and detained the suspect near the station shortly after he exited the vehicle. The man boarded the bus at Poststraße in the Bierstadt district just before 8 a.m. During the journey, he allegedly made inappropriate advances toward young passengers, including repeatedly grabbing his crotch. His behaviour prompted witnesses to notify the authorities.

Police patrols located and detained the suspect near the main station after he left the bus. He was taken to the police station for processing before being released later the same day. A criminal investigation has since been launched to gather further evidence. Authorities are urging anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward. Witnesses can contact Wiesbaden Criminal Police at (0611) 345-0 to provide statements or additional information.

The arrest follows a recent case in March 2026, when another suspect was detained for sexual harassment on a Wiesbaden bus. While no specific data exists for similar incidents in the city's public transport over the past two years, regional figures show 87 sexual offences at train stations and trains in Rhineland-Palatinate in 2025. The investigation into this latest case remains ongoing.
