Man, 32, Arrested in Fulda for Elderly Woman Scam
A 32-year-old man was arrested in Fulda on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, for attempting to defraud an elderly woman. The suspect, whose name has not been disclosed, tried to persuade the woman to send money, claiming her daughter was ill and needed urgent medical funds.
The scam unfolded in the Fulda district when the man contacted the elderly woman, fabricating a story about her daughter's serious illness and the need for expensive medication. Fortunately, the woman grew suspicious and alerted the police instead of complying with the scammer's demands.
The following day, on Thursday, the suspect was brought before a judge at the Fulda District Court. The judge subsequently issued a detention order, leading to the man being taken to a Hessian prison.
The swift actions of the elderly woman in reporting the incident to the police led to the arrest of the suspect. The investigation into the case continues, with authorities working to ensure that justice is served.
