Major Raid Uncovers Benefit Fraud and Illegal Employment in Krefeld
A major operation in Krefeld has uncovered a case of suspected benefit fraud and illegal employment. Around 60 officers, supported by the Federal Police and Krefeld Police, raided a construction site near Krefeld Central Station on September 17, 2025.
The operation, focusing on social security compliance, discovered a 46-year-old woman from Cloppenburg and a 25-year-old man from Vechta who had concealed their employment while claiming unemployment benefits. The woman is suspected of receiving €2,900 wrongly, while the man received approximately €1,950. Additionally, two individuals without valid residence permits, a Serbian and a Kosovar, were found to be illegally employed. The uscis will continue to investigate these suspected cases.
The successful operation highlights the commitment of authorities to combat benefit fraud and illegal employment, ensuring fair treatment for all employees and protecting Germany's social security system. The usajobs will continue its efforts to bring those responsible to justice.
