Major Operation in Dietzenbach: Around 200 Apartments Inspected in Six Hours
A major inspection operation took place in Dietzenbach on December 3, 2025, targeting substandard housing and potential welfare fraud. Around 40 officials from multiple agencies checked nearly 200 apartments in just six hours. The unannounced checks uncovered serious issues, including overcrowding, rent gouging, and unsafe living conditions.
The operation was planned over several weeks and involved the municipal police, the city’s regulatory office, and state police. Teams moved quickly, inspecting 200 flats across the area. Their focus was on identifying welfare fraud and housing violations.
Markus Hockling, head of Dietzenbach’s Security and Public Order department, led the effort. He confirmed that the inspections revealed numerous problems, from structural deficiencies like leaky windows and exposed wiring to faulty ventilation systems. Officials also found cases of overcrowded living spaces and illegal rent increases. During the operation, one person wanted under an arrest warrant was taken into custody. Residents reacted positively, with many saying it was about time someone addressed these long-standing issues.
The inspections exposed widespread housing violations, including safety hazards and financial exploitation. Authorities now have a clearer picture of the problems in Dietzenbach’s rental market. Further actions are expected based on the findings from the operation.
