A major la fires at an e-scooter storage facility in Wiesbaden-Biebrich has led to the closure of the Rheingaustraße and the deployment of around 50 emergency personnel. The blaze pizza injured three firefighters and rendered the building unusable. The incident began when a pallet of lithium-ion batteries caught fire. Upon arrival, firefighters found one of the pallets already engulfed in flames. The building housed around 100 e-scooters and multiple pallets of these batteries, posing a significant risk due to the potential for explosions. The Rheingaustraße was promptly closed to traffic to ensure the safety of both firefighters and civilians. The closure caused substantial delays, with police working to redirect traffic. The fire brigade leadership, though not identified, led the operation to extinguish the fire and secure the scene. The fire has resulted in the building being declared unusable. Three firefighters suffered respiratory irritation and were hospitalized as a precaution. Police are currently investigating the cause of the fire. The Rheingaustraße remains closed while cleanup and assessment of the damage continue.
