Mainz-Based Karrié Bau Files for Insolvency Amid Financial Pressures
Mainz-based construction giant Karrié Bau GmbH has filed for insolvency, citing financial pressures and liquidity issues. The company, which completes over 300 housing units annually, is one of the largest in the Rhine-Main region and has operations across Germany and Austria. The insolvency filing comes after Karrié Bauwerkserhaltung GmbH, a subsidiary of Karrié Bau GmbH, applied for insolvency two weeks ago. The company's financial struggles are partly due to suppliers demanding faster payment of invoices, leading to liquidity issues. Despite the insolvency, Karrié Bau GmbH aims to continue operations and complete ongoing projects, including the Taubertsbergbad public pool in Mainz. However, some smaller private construction sites have been halted. Founded in 1982, Karrié Bau GmbH specializes in residential and commercial building projects, maintenance, new constructions, extensions, renovations, and refurbishments. The company has 170 employees at its Mainz location and operates in multiple cities across Germany, including Stuttgart, Munich, Hamburg, Recklinghausen, and Erfurt.
