New Library Fees and Regulations Take Effect in Lünen on April 1

On April 1, Lünen's city library will introduce a revised usage and fee schedule after the changes were approved by the city council on March 19.

Under the new system, adults will pay an annual fee of €20, with a reduced rate of €10 available. Children and young people up to age 18 will continue to use the library free of charge. Eligibility for the discounted rate includes students, trainees, university students, welfare recipients, and holders of a volunteer ID card or JULEICA youth leader certification.

A new couples' rate has also been introduced: partners or cohabiting couples sharing the same address can now register together for an annual fee of €25, with each receiving their own library card. Registration for this option is only available in person.

Individual library cards can already be applied for online via the City of Lünen's service portal, provided applicants have a BundID account with online ID functionality.

Opening Hours: Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday: 10 AM – 6 PM Saturday: 10 AM – 1 PM
