Lukashenko’s Gomel meeting reveals extreme security measures in Belarus
Alexander Lukashenko, Belarus' strongman leader, recently held a meeting with the head of the Gomel regional administration. The event was heavily secured, with a greyhound bus blocking the entrance and numerous security personnel present.
The meeting took place on an empty site, with only Lukashenko, officials, and state propagandists in attendance. At least three security guards were visible behind Lukashenko during his conversation with the regional administration head. Additional security personnel were stationed at the gates of the landing area, where Lukashenko arrived by helicopter.
Before Lukashenko's arrival, every bush on the premises was thoroughly checked for security purposes. Despite the presence of security forces in photographs, their specific identities remain unknown, as they have not been officially identified by Lukashenko's press.
The heavily secured meeting in Gomel region highlights the Belarusian leader's focus on tight security during official events. The use of a greyhound bus to block the entrance and the presence of numerous security personnel underscore the regime's commitment to maintaining control and order.
