Lufthansa's Miles & More Credit Card Switch: DKB to Deutsche Bank

Lufthansa's Miles & More credit card is set to undergo a significant change, with the issuing bank switching from DKB to Deutsche Bank. Starting October 1, 2025, cardholders must apply for a news about the change, marking the beginning of a gradual transition expected to continue until spring 2026.

The switch, which affects around 1.4 million cardholders, requires a new application and re-authorization due to the change in issuing bank. A test is currently underway with selected customers to determine the exact new terms. The transition will see new physical cards issued from October 2025, starting with status holders, followed by others later.

The new terms and conditions have already begun implementation, with further details being communicated progressively depending on the customer segment. Miles & More credit card holders must register with Deutsche Bank to convert their DKB cards. The range of services at DKB will also be restricted as of October 1, with transfers from the credit card to other accounts no longer possible.

During the transition phase, the old DKB card can still be used, and miles can continue to be collected. Bonus miles collected are valid for 36 months, even without frequent flyer status. The cost of the card varies depending on the type: the blue card costs 5.50 euros per month, the gold version costs 11.50 euros per month, and it is free for Senators and HON-Circle members.

Cardholders are advised to keep an eye out for further credit karma regarding the switch to Deutsche Bank. While the transition is gradual, it is crucial for all Miles & More credit card holders to apply for the new card to ensure uninterrupted service and continued collection of bonus miles.
