Lufthansa Cargo's 600M 'LCCevo' Project to Make Frankfurt Hub Europe's Most Modern
Lufthansa Cargo is investing heavily in modernizing its Frankfurt Airport cargo hub, with plans to spend around 600 million euros by 2030. The 'LCCevo' project aims to make the Lufthansa Cargo Center Europe's most modern air cargo hub.
The modernization includes renewing cargo handling halls, storage and conveying technology, building technology, administrative buildings, and IT facilities. Around 55,000 square meters are currently being renovated or rebuilt. A significant milestone in the project is the construction of a 42-meter-high high-bay warehouse, which will be the second-tallest building at Frankfurt Airport upon completion. The project is being carried out during ongoing operations, requiring cooperation from all parties involved. The LCC covers an area of around 330,000 square meters, equivalent to about 46 football fields. The LCC has been operating continuously since 1982 and plays a central role in global air cargo. The modernization, known as the 'LCCevo' project, aims to make the Lufthansa Cargo Center Europe's most modern air cargo hub.
Lufthansa Cargo's investment in modernizing its Frankfurt Airport cargo hub is expected to significantly improve its efficiency and capabilities. The project, which is being carried out during ongoing operations, is a testament to the company's commitment to remaining a leader in the air cargo industry. Upon completion, the LCCevo project is expected to make the Lufthansa Cargo Center Europe's most modern air cargo hub.
