'Living Intercultural Diversity' Seal Opens New Applications for Inclusive Businesses
A new round of applications has opened for the 'Living Intercultural Diversity' quality seal. The award recognises businesses and organisations that actively support employees with migrant backgrounds. This year, 21 businesses received the honour for their commitment to cultural diversity in the workplace.
The seal was first introduced in 2019 by the Federal Ministry for Family, Senioren, Women and Youth (BMFSFJ). Since then, a total of 125 companies and organisations have been awarded the distinction. The City of Marburg and the Marburg-Biedenkopf District jointly present the accolade every two years.
Employers can now submit their applications online via the platform at www.ourwebsite/qualityseal. The process runs from 15 February to 31 May. To qualify, organisations must answer questions about their integration efforts, such as training programmes and career guidance for staff with migrant roots.
The evaluation considers different business sizes, including large corporations, mid-sized firms, and small or micro-enterprises. Eligible applicants range from private businesses to independent providers and public administrations. Kirsten Dinnebier, a city councillor, emphasised that the seal represents a clear stance against exclusion and in favour of diversity.
The seal highlights concrete measures that foster inclusion in the workplace. Companies that receive it demonstrate active support for employees from diverse cultural backgrounds. The next round of winners will be announced after the application period closes in May.
