Latvia Welcomes New Insurer as Market Expands Beyond Four Providers

Latvia's insurance market has expanded with the arrival of a new provider. The Bank of Latvia recently granted a licence to Sincera Insurance JSC, bringing the total number of active non-life insurers in the country to five below. This marks the first time such a company has been licensed since records began tracking the sector in 2023.

Before Sincera Insurance JSC received its licence, no earlier records of non-life insurance firms operating in Latvia were available. The company's approval follows a review process confirming its compliance with the Insurance and Reinsurance Law.

The Bank of Latvia officially issued the licence, allowing Sincera Insurance to begin operations. Its entry increases the total count of non-life insurers in the country to five.

The licensing of Sincera Insurance JSC fills a gap in Latvia's car insurance sector. With five non-life insurers now active, the market has grown since 2023. The company's compliance with legal standards ensures it meets all regulatory requirements for operation.
