Langenselbold Wins KOMPASS Security Certificate for Safety Initiatives

Langenselbold, a town in Hessen, has been recognized for its efforts to improve safety, receiving the KOMPASS Security Certificate. The town joined the KOMPASS initiative in 2019 and has since implemented various measures to enhance both actual security and residents' sense of safety.

Langenselbold's security situation was generally viewed positively, but residents and stakeholders highlighted concerns about road safety and crime. The town responded by removing damaged road humps and introducing a no-stopping zone to improve road safety. Other measures included removing graffiti, trimming bushes, and relocating bicycle lockers to enhance visibility and safety. Additionally, Langenselbold introduced targeted new measures such as improved lighting, cleanliness, and order to address specific safety needs.

The KOMPASS program, which Langenselbold participated in, aims to strengthen perceived safety by working with residents and stakeholders to develop local security infrastructure. The town is the 45th Hessian municipality to receive the KOMPASS Security Certificate, reflecting its commitment to community engagement and problem-solving at the local level.
