Langen gears up for winter with enhanced snow and ice response plan

Langen has completed preparations for the upcoming meteorological winter. The city’s road maintenance teams are now ready to tackle snow and ice with fully stocked equipment and clear operational plans. Both municipal crews and private contractors will handle different areas to keep roads safe.

The city has stockpiled 200 tons of pre-wetted salt to reduce waste and limit environmental impact. Four large snowplows and tractors will clear major routes, while manual gritting will cover areas inaccessible to vehicles. Priority will go to key roads like Südliche Ringstraße and Frankfurter Straße, especially during heavy snowfall.

With equipment, salt reserves, and private contractors in place, Langen’s winter maintenance strategy is now active. Residents and drivers are reminded to follow safety guidelines as crews focus on keeping essential routes passable. Clear responsibilities for property owners and prioritised clearance routes form the core of the city’s approach.
