L 3040 Redevelopment Progresses: First Section Near Completion
The redevelopment of L 3040 between Rüsselsheim and Königstädten is underway, with the first section expected to finish by early November. The project, costing approximately 3.4 million euros, is funded mainly by the state of Hesse and the city of Rüsselsheim.
Currently, the western section is in progress, with traffic shifted to the west side. Upon completion of the first section, work will commence on the eastern side. This phase will see the temporary closure of entrances to Bensheimer Straße and Hyundai-Platz for roadway renewal and bus stop renovation.
During construction, traffic in both directions will be reduced to one lane per direction and rerouted via a median crossover. Drivers can expect detours via Astheimer Straße or Bensheimer Straße during the closures. The new roadway in the direction of Königstädten is scheduled to be completed by mid-May.
The L 3040 redevelopment is proceeding as planned, with the first section nearing completion. The eastern section will follow, ensuring a smoother and safer roadway for commuters. The project is well-funded, with the majority of costs covered by the state of Hesse.
