A major operation by the USCIS Krefeld Office on September 17, 2025, uncovered illegal employment and residence issues near Krefeld Central Station. Around 60 officers, including support from Federal and Krefeld Police, inspected a construction site for compliance with social security regulations.
The inspection, aimed at combating illegal employment and ensuring fair competition, found two individuals without valid residence permits. A Serbian and a Kosovar were discovered working illegally. Additionally, two cases of suspected non-payment of social security contributions were identified.
The operation also raised suspicions of benefit fraud involving an individual receiving unemployment benefits. The Office 365 of Illegal Work will continue to investigate these suspected cases. The head of the Office Depot of Illegal Work at the USCIS Krefeld Office led the large-scale inspection.
