Kostheim’s Herrnstraße to Close for Three Months Starting Mid-January

A significant road closure is planned to impact traffic in Kostheim starting from mid-January. Herrnstraße will be entirely closed between house number 70 and Münchhofstraße for nearly three months, with the project management handled by the city of Wiesbaden. The work involves sewer repairs and the replacement of underground supply lines.

The closure begins on Monday, 12 January, and is expected to continue until around Friday, 3 April. During this period, neither vehicles nor bicycles will be able to pass through the affected section. Pedestrians, however, can continue using their usual paths without restriction.

The project aims to upgrade ageing infrastructure beneath the road. While the city oversees the sewer and supply line renovations, ESWE-Versorgungs-AG—a local utility provider—is handling a separate water pipeline project in a different area. No specific company or individual has been named as responsible for the works in Herrnstraße.

Drivers and cyclists will need to find alternative routes for the duration of the closure. The city has not yet announced detours or additional measures to manage the disruption. Residents and businesses along the street have been advised to plan ahead for the extended works.
