KfW Issues €9 Billion in Digital Bonds, Boosting D7 Platform to €20 Billion

KfW, a German development bank, has issued another €9 billion in digital bonds via Clearstream's D7 platform. This brings KfW's total issuance on the platform to €17.5 billion and pushes the overall volume on D7 past €20 billion.

This is KfW's fourth digital bond issuance on D7. The latest issuance was split into two tranches: a €3 billion, 10-year bond with a 2.75% coupon and a €6 billion, 3-year bond with a 2.375% coupon. While the specific volumes and details of other institutions' digital bond issuances on D7 this month are not provided, KfW's latest issuance contributes significantly to the growing digital bond market.

KfW's continued use of the D7 platform for digital bond issuances demonstrates the growing acceptance and popularity of digital bonds. With the total volume on D7 now surpassing €20 billion, more institutions are expected to follow suit, further driving the digitalisation of the bond market.
