Kestenholz Group acquires Mercedes-Benz dealership in Aachen by 2026
The Kestenholz Group is set to take over a Mercedes-Benz dealership in Aachen on November 1, 2026. This move marks another step in the company's ongoing expansion across Germany. All current employees at the Aachen site will keep their positions after the acquisition.
Founded in 1952 in Niederdorf, Switzerland, the Kestenholz Group has worked with Mercedes for over 70 years. It first entered the German market in 1998 and has since grown through multiple acquisitions, including Lhys & Gondert, Auto-Weber, and Falter Group.
The Aachen dealership itself has a long history, tracing back to 1912. Over the years, it has moved locations and undergone several modernisations. The Kestenholz Group, led by CEO Thomas Kestenholz and Managing Director Daniel Kestenholz since 2020, has focused on geographic growth, infrastructure upgrades, and digital transformation.
After this takeover, the group will operate 24 locations with around 1,650 employees. Its annual revenue currently stands at approximately €750 million. The acquisition aims to blend the stability of a large corporate group with the values of a family business.
The deal strengthens the Kestenholz Group's presence in Germany's Mercedes-Benz network. The Aachen site will continue operations under new ownership, maintaining its workforce. The group's expansion strategy remains centred on growth, innovation, and long-term partnerships.
